Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear?
Does age matter?
Classes are geared toward adults (15-50 are our primary clients), however, we are flexible and welcome any young ladies mature enough to take part in our group classes. We also encourage mothers and daughters to take the class together. Please do not hesitate if you have any further questions, we would be glad to help you out.
Do I need any previous experience?
No. You do not need martial arts experience. The classes are structured to be informative to both those with no experience, as well as the experienced martial artist.
Can I schedule a group or private lesson?
If you are interested in group or private classes, please contact us and we would be glad to schedule a date and time for you.
How can I practice what I've learned?
We have on going courses for continued training opportunities. We recognize the importance of continuing your training, as no one can be expected to recall what was taught in a single workshop, especially while under life threatening pressure. This is why we do our best to make sure you have the opportunity to not only practice what you learned in class, but also to become proficient and expand beyond the basics.
Also, if you have taken our 6 week course, you are welcome to drop in and refresh on those skills. We only ask that you reach out first and make sure we have space available that day.
Check out our jiu jitsu 101. Classes are an hour long on Fridays at 6pm. Drop ins are $20. 101 classes will be run by Coach Mattie and will focus on the why and how of jiu jitsu techniques. The goal of the 101 classes is to give individual attention to every student and to make sure each student understand how to apply each technique taught that day.
In addition, check out our all levels jiu jitsu classes Mondays - Thursedays, also wrestling and Judo once a week, and for striking, we offer Muay Thai twice a week and an MMA class once a week.
